Mike’s Luxury Block Prints creates hand-carved, hand-inked, and hand-pressed artwork inspired by sea creatures, nature, and a healthy dose of humor. Every print begins as a block carved in my studio and is pulled by hand using professional-grade paper and high‑quality inks. The result is artwork that’s tactile, expressive, and built to last — unique pieces meant to bring joy for years.

I discovered block printing during the early days of the COVID‑19 pandemic. I had always admired the bold, graphic look of traditional prints, but it hadn’t occurred to me that I could make them myself. Like many people stuck at home, I went searching for “funtivities” to stay grounded and creative. YouTube tutorials led to classes at my local Cultural Arts Center, and slowly I built the skills, tools, and confidence to carve my own designs.

I’m based in Columbus, Ohio, where I run this small, part‑time business with the help of my wife. My first sales happened on a simple fold‑up table in my neighborhood. By the summer of 2025, I began showing my work at local markets and fairs, culminating in my acceptance into the Emerging Artists Program for the 2025 Columbus Winterfair — my first real glimpse into the world of professional art shows.

Looking ahead, I plan to expand into larger festivals, travel to new regions, and begin teaching classes. Above all, I remain committed to creating new work: prints that celebrate curiosity, craftsmanship, and the joy of following whatever creative direction pulls me next.
